Medicaid covers only medically necessary transportation to and from a Medicaid-covered service.  Travel to and from pharmacies is not covered.  For transportation outside of a member’s medical service area, a referral from a member’s primary care physician is required.

You must have the following to be eligible for transportation: 

·       A valid Kentucky Medicaid Card

·       Must be traveling to and from a Medicaid-covered service.  Travel to pharmacies is not included.

·       No vehicle can be registered in your name or household

·       Live in the following counties: Fayette, Jefferson, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, Trimble, Bullitt, and Spencer.
